- Clean your shoes. In colder climates, boots are subject to salt stain damage. Use a mixture of warm water and lemon juice or vinegar to dab away salt stains. Let shoes dry before spraying and conditioning.
- Condition your Poppy Barleys. Leather is a natural material that needs to be conditioned on a regular basis. Leather conditioners come in the form of sprays or creams. Be sure your Poppy Barley Shoes are clean and dry before applying the conditioner.
- Storing your footwear. If you’re putting your Poppy Barley shoes away for the season, be sure to clean and condition them first. Stains and salt can ruin the leather if they are left on for too long. Make sure they are completely dry before putting them away in your Poppy Barley dust bag. Keep them away from direct sunlight (or they will fade) and away from heat sources (or leather may dry and crack).
